ABOUT SCR

The philosophy of Specific Compensation Reprogramming is, in essence, aimed to reverse the effects of years of inefficient and improper movement. Through a targeted, hands-on approach, practitioners are able to retrain the body by properly activating under-active muscles, which reduces the likelihood of overuse injuries, and increases performance.

SCR is a technique that dynamically stretches and strengthens the entire body through targeted concentric and eccentric movements. The arms and legs are put through specific linear and rotational movements, which not only build the neuromuscular connection with the specific muscles being worked, but also help develop integrated strength through full range of motion. This technique can be used to cue muscles to work together, stimulate muscles that are no longer “firing” properly, or to lengthen a muscle that has shortened. The primary goal of the technique is to create balance and stability in the body.

During SCR, the practitioner becomes the resistance that the client works against. This allows for the appropriate amount of resistance for each of the targeted muscles, as well as making it nearly impossible for further compensation to occur. By working one-on-one with a practitioner, immediate problem solving can be done. If pain or fatigue occurs in a muscle other than the targeted one, modifications can be made to resolve the issue quickly, before further compensation occurs.

UPCOMING COURSES

Specific Compensation Reprogramming (SCR) is an innovative musculoskeletal technique that uses a combination of assisted stretches and specific muscle activation exercises to get muscles back to their optimal resting length and tone. This 2 day (16 hours) course will teach therapists how to properly assess compensation patterns and how to efficiently address and reverse their effects through the use of stretching and strengthening exercises. Participants will receive a copy of the course manual as well as a number of therapy bands that they will be using throughout the duration of the course.
